The temperature has finally peaked and it is now 41 degrees. Upstairs everything has turned into a sauna with various office dwellers beginning to shut their doors in hope of getting away from the ambient heat. In any case, it is the old air-conditioning system that is the main culprit.
Some have also gravitated to the conference room where it is supported by its own reverse cycle air-conditioning. The sad thing is that our employer is supposedly one of the major oil industry cohort/player but can't even afford a reliable air-conditioning system. I bet you this does not happen at the head office though or the CEO will be screaming and someone will surely get fired.
So when someone mentions the squillions of dollars being made at the pump, we sure ain't getting the perks here mate!
I have made my way to the first floor of the building and amazingly this area is very cool like nothing is happening at all. Is there a conspiracy that I am not aware of or Operations seems to have an upperhand in making sure that life in Finance is as miserable as it can get.
Damn you air-conditioning! Damn you.....
